Hourly volunteers are assigned to a zone location for their time slot to provide support to exhibitors, and to assist with movement of student groups between zones. When the “bell” indicates student movement, hourly volunteers assist world navigators in directing students to the next zone.

World Navigators are assigned to support one student group. Navigators shepherd students through the event and ensure they follow the program schedule. When the “bell” indicates student movement, world navigators collect students and lead them to the next zone.

Hospitality volunteers provide support to vendors and assist with movement of student groups between zones as needed. When the “bell” indicates student movement within zones, hospitality volunteers assist world navigators/navigation captains in identifying students that should be moving. Volunteers encourage those students to follow world navigators/navigation captains to the next zone. Additionally, hospitality volunteers shuttle food & beverage items to vendors and volunteers, and clean/maintain the hospitality rooms.

The school check-in booth is located at the University of Providence, University Center. Check-in volunteers will be directed to this area following their arrival and check-in at the volunteer table.  

School check-in volunteers greet school representatives, help students navigate orientation, and answer any initial questions attendees may have. Additionally, they escort and direct students inside the university center to the school check-in table where students receive event materials and are directed to orientation.

Street Crossing volunteers will oversee safe crossing zones for students, vendors, and educators arriving at the event on September 15. They will be staged at common crossroads and help protect all attendees from possible traffic incidents. They will direct attendees to the correct location if they have questions upon arrival.

Bus Departure volunteers provide assistance and direction for students, educators, and chaperones as they arrive, and prepare to load buses in the southernmost parking lot of Great Falls College MSU. Volunteers escort and direct students to their respective buses for return to schools.

The Tuesday Tear Down team with assist with tear down on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 following the completion of the day's event.  Volunteers will help take down and pack up tents, help gather up materials, and carry items to vehicles. Volunteers will also help collect any trash left behind by attendees so we can leave the campus clean.

Join Peace Place in caring for children afters 5 to 17 who have specialized needs. Our program provides support for these children and volunteers expand how many children can be served! After school volunteers will get children off the bus and checked into the After-School Program, some of whom are wheelchair-bound or have communication and/or behavioral challenges. Volunteers will be assisting the Director of Operations and the Program Coordinator in preparing snacks, art/math/science projects, assisting children with homework or other tasks, interacting with the children and their parents/caregivers.

All volunteers must pass an in-depth background check through MT DPHHS Child Care Licensing, ability
to learn and implement positive behavior supports, ability to push a wheelchair and safely assist children into the building in all weather conditions, ability to work with children of all ability levels, and ability to effectively
communicate and work with other Peace Place team members. Volunteers will be given full training and there will be a supervision on site at all time to assist them.

Volunteer shifts are 3-6 PM (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), 2:30-5:30 PM (Wednesday). Note that volunteers don't need to serve every day. Volunteers are asked to commit long term for the school year.

The volunteer will help us in being the first, positive face of Peace Place, setting the stage for the entire program. The volunteer will help children to be safe as they enter the building, allowing other staff members to be able to supervise other children and start the program. The volunteer will also make a huge impact on the children, being able to work with them one-on- one or in a small group, helping children with specialized needs to feel validated and recognized, which are things they don’t always receive in the greater world. The volunteer will be helping to impact a child’s day and their future success!

Volunteer for one hour, once a week at a local elementary school. Spend time over lunch eating, playing games, or working on homework. Make this your favorite lunch hour of the week by spending one-on-one time with a youth and make a Big difference. 

Looking for a way to make a positive difference in the life of a child? Big Brothers Big Sisters is hard at work and still looking for Bigs to serve as mentors to local Littles. Volunteers can serve in either their community based program where you go out and do activities in the community with your Little or be a part of their eMentoring program where the volunteer meets virtually with their Little 45 minutes per week.

They are seeking warm, loving adults to make a difference in the life of a child. Being a Big is a rewarding and life-changing volunteer opportunity that anyone can do. All it takes is a willingness to make a new friend and the desire to share some fun. Volunteers will be trained for their mentoring position and should be willing to commit to a year of service. Big Brothers Big Sisters is offering monthly orientations via Microsoft Teams (no account needed) that take approximately one hour to give you a chance to learn more about the program.
